For users of ultrafine iron powder, issues such as oxidation and caking are common troubles. These problems result in unstable quality of end products or excessively high rejection rates.
Actually, such problems are entirely preventable. Multiple tests carried out by the Technology Department of Sagwell have proven that ultrafine iron powder with nitrogen protection or vacuum packaging can retain its required purity and activity when stored in an environment with normal temperature (20-25℃) and humidity below 60%.

If the environmental humidity is too high, the iron powder may absorb moisture and cake, which impairs its performance.
If the environmental temperature exceeds 30℃, it will speed up the oxidation reaction between powder particles and oxygen in the air, thus reducing the powder's purity and activity.
When unopened, the original packaging usually offers good protection, but it is recommended to check the packaging integrity regularly.
Once opened, ultrafine iron powder must be used within 24 hours (including the storage period after mixing). In case of high-temperature and humid weather, immediate use is recommended.
In addition, Sagwell also suggests that customers arrange acceptance inspection as soon as they receive the ultrafine iron powder. After passing the inspection, proper marking and traceability records should be made to ensure stability and traceability during the application process.
